The elegant and historic spa town of Baden bei Wien is situated at the heart of the Vienna Woods 17km south of Vienna.
Baden has a very rich musical and cultural heritage and was very popular with many composers including Beethoven, Schubert, Johann Strauss, Carl Zeller and many more.
The Baden Stadt-theater offers a year-round programme of Operas, Operettas, Musicals and Concerts. Every summer it hosts an Operetta Festival featuring works from the Golden and Silver Operetta Era alongside musical comedies and musicals.
There is a direct tram route to the centre of Vienna so it is very easy to enjoy the delights of the Capital City of Music while staying in the beautiful surroundings of Baden.
In July and August each year it is also possible to attend the Lakeside Festival at Morbisch (Operetta and Musicals), the Opera Festival at St Margarethen, near Eisenstadt, and the Klosterneuberg Opera Festival, near Vienna whilst staying in Baden.
The historic Spa town of Bad Ischl is located in the stunningly beautiful Salzkammergut region of lakes and mountains, about 1 hour from Salzburg, city of music and birthplace of Mozart.
The town was a great favourite of Emperor Franz Josef who spent many summers here. Many composers, artists, musicians and performers owned villas in the town including Brahms, Bruckner, Johann Strauss, Emmerich Kalman, Oscar Straus, Robert Stolz, Richard Tauber and many more. The composer Franz Lehar lived here for over 35 years and wrote many of his best loved works here.
Bad Ischl is very proud of its culture and traditions and retains the charm and elegance of a bygone era.
The annual Lehar Festival is an extremely popular event every summer offering fully staged productions to the highest standards.

Bregenz is a small but bustling and cosmopolitan city located on the shores of Lake Constance at the most westerly point of Austria, bordering Germany to the north (Lindau) and Switzerland and the Alps to the south.
Bregenz is the home to the world renowned Bregenz Festival held in July and August each year. Lavish Opera performances are held on the world’s largest floating stage at the lakeside. The Festival also features concerts and other events.
The German city of Dresden is situated on the banks of the River Elbe, near the Czech border. Dresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendour. The city was known as the Jewel Box, because of its Baroque and Rococo city centre.

Formerly two cities, Buda and Pest, sit either side of the mighty Danube. They were amalgamated in 1873. Budapest is also known as the city of spas, uniquely rich in thermal waters providing excellent medicinal therapies. Budapest's musical heritage includes the composers Liszt, Kodaly, Bartok and Erkel. Both Lehar and Kalman were born in Hungary and their works are regularly included in the repertoire of the Budapest Operetta Theatre.
